Design starts with the establishment

We design around the whole hospitality experience.

A uniform should make sense in the lobby, on the floor, in the kitchen, beside the pool, in the garden and behind the scenes. We assess the property’s architecture, interiors, colour language, service style, guest profile, climate, operating conditions, cultural context and brand standards before recommending what each team should wear.

01

Hotels & Resorts

Luxury, lifestyle, business, corporate and resort environments. Guest-facing polish is coordinated with practical culinary, housekeeping, maintenance and support-team requirements.

02

ICC & Convention

03

Guest Houses & Boutique

Smaller teams often perform multiple functions. We develop versatile pieces and controlled wardrobes without over-specifying stock.

Supplier-ready BOQ development

We build the detail needed to buy the right quantity and the right garment.

The objective is a disciplined BOQ, not an oversized wardrobe. Every line should have a reason to exist.

Headcount & quantity logic

  • Permanent, temporary and reserve headcount by role
  • Par level by garment type and operating requirement
  • Shift, laundry and turnaround assumptions
  • One-off items versus repeat garments
  • Footwear, belts, headwear and accessories controlled separately
  • Size curve and contingency allowance where approved

Supplier specification pack

  • Garment description and blank supplier SKU field
  • Reference image for every uniform component where possible
  • Fabric, colour, trim, button and accessory references
  • Embroidery, badge, logo and placement guidance
  • Prototype and wash-test requirements
  • Approved sample, revision and sign-off status

HES uniform mood boards and BOQs are development and procurement tools. Initial concepts, quantities, colours, trims, branding, fabrics and specifications are indicative until formally approved. Production should proceed only against approved samples, final technical specifications, confirmed sizing and agreed commercial terms.

BOQ & PAR level planning

From operational requirements to the right quantities.

BOQ stands for Bill of Quantities. In hospitality, a BOQ is a structured, itemised schedule that defines what a property, department or outlet needs to operate, including the product, specification, quantity, location and operational basis for each line. It provides a controlled foundation for budgeting, sourcing, supplier comparison, ordering, opening stock and future replenishment.

HES can work with owners, operators, project teams and department heads to build or validate BOQs and establish practical PAR levels based on how the operation will actually run. We consider room count, covers, seats, meal periods, occupancy, staffing, shifts, service style, laundry and wash cycles, breakage, replacement lead times, storage capacity and opening contingencies. The aim is to provide enough stock to operate without disruption, while avoiding unnecessary capital tied up in excess inventory.

01

Department & Outlet Mapping

We define requirements by operating area, from guestrooms, housekeeping and laundry to restaurants, bars, banqueting, kitchens, stewarding, front office, spa, engineering and other specialist departments.

02

PAR Level Methodology

We assess daily usage, occupancy, covers, peak demand, shift patterns, turnaround times, washing or laundry cycles, replacement frequency and supplier lead times to establish a practical operating PAR.

03

Quantity Validation

We test proposed quantities against the operating model, identify under- or over-specification, and separate operational PAR, reserve stock, opening stock and contingency requirements so the quantity logic remains clear and auditable.

04

Procurement-Ready Control

We structure specifications, item descriptions, quantities and supplier comparisons into a sourcing-ready BOQ that supports budgeting, phased ordering, delivery planning, replenishment and lifecycle cost control.

Where this adds value: new openings, refurbishments, outlet changes, departmental resets, budget reviews and any team that needs an independent validation of an existing BOQ or PAR-level model before committing spend.

Give us the property. We will work through the details.

Hotel, ICC, guest house, lodge, safari lodge, resort, restaurant or complex multi-department operation. Tell us how the establishment should feel and how the teams work. HES can help translate that into a practical uniform direction, a controlled BOQ and operational PAR levels aligned to each department or outlet.
